Our history
Brand-new and full of history! Discover the story behind our newly built City Hotel in Haslach im Kinzigtal.
Bavarian influence in the historic restaurant „Bayerischer Hof“
In 1834 the „Bayerischer Hof" opened its doors at the entrance of the heritage-protected Old Town of Haslach im Kinzigtal. But where did the name derive from? The owner Christian Neumaier had spent many years in Bavaria before he started to brew his own beer in Haslach according to Bavarian recipes .
At that time, the Haslach-born writer Heinrich Hansjakob visited frequently the restaurant and his owner, whom he called „Henne-Christe“ in one of his novels.
A diverse meeting place
From 1918 the „Bayerischer Hof" served as a meeting place to watch movies. In the 1960ies and 70ies young people used to gather there to listen to local beat bands. And, for decades, the legendary „Lumpenball" took place at the „Bayerischen Hof" which used to be one of the highlights of the Carneval season.
Time for a change
In 2014 a manufacturing family bought the meanwhile abandoned property and planned a complete new building in place of the „Bayerischen Hof“. Then, they started to plan thouroughly a new building that would fit into the excisting cityscape. This idea became more and more concrete, so that in 2019 the contruction of the new City Hotel Haslach started – involving many local companies who took much care in building up an economical and ecological construction.
The new City Hotel Haslach
The new facade reminds of the ancient restaurant and is situated directly at the old town wall of Haslach im Kinzigtal. Inside the hotel, Black Forest symbols blend in nicely with the stylish and modern living design. The combination of History and Modernity becomes natural in the City Hotel Haslach.
